Project Background
Leveraging AI to improve fertility assessment communication
Future Fertility's Endo™ assessment uses AI-powered analysis to
evaluate endometrial thickness from ultrasound images, generating
a quality score (0-10) that predicts the probability of successful
clinical pregnancy.
While the AI technology was clinically validated, the existing
report format failed to effectively communicate results to patients,
leading to confusion and requiring additional staff explanation.

Initial Design Analysis
Why patients were confused
Patients couldn't understand their fertility results—and that needed to change
❌ Insufficient Visual Guidance
Text-heavy layout with minimal visual elements overwhelmed first-time patients
❌ Inconsistent Data Presentation
Related information scattered across sections, increasing cognitive load
❌ Poor Information Hierarchy
Dense text blocks made it difficult to identify critical results at a glance
❌ Unclear Score Communication
Numeric scores (e.g., 5.2mm) lacked context and visual interpretation—patients didn't know if this was good or bad
Design Process
The messy middle: testing what works
Two main approaches, dozens of refinements
I explored two main directions for organizing the report information, testing them with both the product team and
clinical staff.
Version A
Dense layout
More detail
upfront
Version B
Streamlined
Clear hierarchy
Visual focus
✅After internal reviews with the product team and clinical stakeholders, Version B was selected for its clearer visual hierarchy and better scanability.
Final Design Solution
The final design
From Version B to Final Design
I refined Version B based on clinical feedback, focusing on:
Clearer score visualization
Better information grouping
Improved typography and spacing
